    Product Description:
Iron sodium ethylenediaminetetraacetate, also known as sodium ferric EDTA, is a coordination compound formed by the chelation of ferric ions (Fe³⁺) with ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) and subsequent neutralization with sodium. It typically appears as a yellow-brown crystalline powder and is highly soluble in water. Its primary and most significant application is as a highly effective iron chelate fertilizer in agriculture and horticulture. It is used to prevent and correct iron chlorosis (yellowing of leaves due to iron deficiency) in a wide range of crops, including fruits, vegetables, and ornamentals, grown in calcareous or high-pH soils where conventional iron sources become unavailable to plants. The strong chelation by EDTA keeps the iron in a soluble and plant-available form over a broad pH range. Additionally, it finds use as a micronutrient additive in hydroponic nutrient solutions. Beyond agriculture, sodium ferric EDTA is utilized in industrial water treatment processes as a sequestrant to control metal ion scale formation and in some chemical synthesis processes where a soluble, non-precipitating source of ferric ions is required.
