Product Description:

4-Hydroxybutyl acrylate is a bifunctional monomer containing both an acrylate group and a terminal hydroxyl group. It is a clear, colorless to pale yellow liquid with a characteristic acrylic odor. Its molecular structure makes it a versatile building block for polymer synthesis. The primary application of 4-hydroxybutyl acrylate is in the production of specialty polymers and coatings. It is widely used as a reactive diluent and crosslinking agent in UV-curable inks, coatings, and adhesives. The hydroxyl group allows for further chemical modification, enabling its incorporation into polyurethane dispersions, epoxy acrylates, and other functional polymers to impart flexibility, adhesion, and weatherability to the final materials. This monomer is also utilized in the synthesis of hydrogel materials for biomedical applications, such as contact lenses and wound dressings, due to its hydrophilic nature and polymerizability.
