    Product Description:
Potassium sodium tartrate tetrahydrate, also known as Rochelle salt, is a double salt with the formula KNaC₄H₄O₆·4H₂O. It is a white crystalline powder that is soluble in water and exhibits piezoelectric properties. Its primary industrial application is as a key component in the preparation of Fehling's solution, a classical reagent used for the detection and quantification of reducing sugars (e.g., glucose) in analytical chemistry. Beyond this, it serves as a sequestering agent and buffer in various processes. It finds use in electroplating baths, in the textile industry as a mordant, and in water treatment for scale inhibition and metal ion chelation. While not a common building block in organic synthesis, its role as a specific reagent in Fehling's test places it within the scope of specialized analytical and inorganic synthesis reagents. It is generally considered to have low toxicity.
