    Product Description:
Diphenylsilane is an organosilicon compound with the chemical formula (C6H5)2SiH2. It is a colorless to light yellow liquid that serves as a versatile monomer and reducing agent in synthetic chemistry. Its primary industrial application is in the synthesis of polysilanes and as a precursor for silicon-containing polymers and materials. It is used in the production of silicon carbide (SiC) fibers and ceramics via polymer-derived ceramic routes. Additionally, diphenylsilane acts as a reducing agent in organic synthesis, particularly for the reduction of carbonyl compounds and in hydrosilylation reactions to form carbon-silicon bonds. The compound must be handled with care due to its pyrophoric nature (can ignite spontaneously in air) and moisture sensitivity. It is typically stored under an inert atmosphere.
