    Product Description:
Aluminum sulfate octadecahydrate is an inorganic salt with the chemical formula Al₂(SO₄)₃·18H₂O. It appears as white, lustrous crystals, granules, or powder. It is highly soluble in water, and its aqueous solution is acidic due to hydrolysis. Its primary industrial application is as a flocculating agent in water and wastewater treatment. The aluminum ions hydrolyze to form aluminum hydroxide precipitates, which trap suspended particles, colloids, and organic matter, facilitating their removal and clarifying the water. It is also a crucial raw material in the paper industry, where it is used as a sizing agent to improve ink holdout and water resistance. Furthermore, it serves as a mordant in textile dyeing, helping dyes bind to fabrics. In addition to these major uses, it finds application as a fire retardant, in soil pH adjustment, and as a hardening agent in some construction materials. As a common inorganic salt, it also functions as a source of aluminum ions or sulfate ions in various chemical syntheses and laboratory processes.
