    Product Description:
Potassium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (K[TFSI], CAS 90076-67-8) is a potassium salt of the bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide anion. It is a white crystalline powder with high thermal stability and excellent electrochemical properties. Its primary application is as a key precursor for the synthesis of ionic liquids, particularly those based on the bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide ([TFSI]⁻) anion. These ionic liquids are extensively used as advanced electrolytes in high-performance lithium-ion and sodium-ion batteries due to their wide electrochemical window, high ionic conductivity, and good thermal stability. K[TFSI] serves as a common starting material for metathesis reactions to produce other [TFSI]-based salts (e.g., Li[TFSI], Na[TFSI]). Furthermore, it finds use as a supporting electrolyte in electrochemical studies and as a source of the non-coordinating [TFSI]⁻ anion in various synthetic and materials chemistry applications. It is hygroscopic and should be handled under inert atmosphere to prevent decomposition.
