    Product Description:
Γ-Aminopropyltriethoxysilane is an organosilane coupling agent featuring a primary amine group (-NH2) at one end and three hydrolyzable ethoxy groups (-OCH2CH3) at the other. This bifunctional structure is central to its properties. Its primary and most significant application is as a surface modifier and adhesion promoter in material science. The ethoxy groups hydrolyze to form silanol groups, which can condense with hydroxyl groups on inorganic surfaces like glass, metals, and minerals, creating a strong covalent bond. The exposed primary amine group then provides an organic, reactive interface that can interact with or covalently bond to polymers, resins (especially epoxies and polyurethanes), and coatings, dramatically improving interfacial adhesion, mechanical properties, and durability in composites. Beyond its major role in coatings and composites, it serves as a versatile building block in organic synthesis for introducing the 3-aminopropyl moiety. It is also used to functionalize silica and other nanoparticles, in chromatography as a stationary phase modifier, and as a precursor for synthesizing more complex organosilicon compounds.
