    Product Description:
Cefpirome sulfate is a fourth-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It is the sulfate salt of cefpirome, a semisynthetic β-lactam antibiotic characterized by an aminothiazolyl methoxyimino side chain and a quaternary ammonium group at the 3-position of the cephem nucleus. This structural configuration grants it a broad spectrum of antibacterial activity and enhanced stability against many β-lactamases. Its primary application is as an active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) for the treatment of severe infections. Cefpirome sulfate is effective against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including *Pseudomonas aeruginosa* and methicillin-susceptible *Staphylococcus aureus*. It is used clinically for conditions such as pneumonia, bacteremia, and complicated urinary tract infections, often in hospital settings where resistant pathogens are a concern. The compound is typically formulated for parenteral administration (intravenous or intramuscular injection). As with other cephalosporins, it works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. Its development and use represent an advancement in combating bacterial resistance, although its clinical use may vary by region based on local resistance patterns and formulary guidelines.
